Hey, fellow Thursday fan! I also prefer to stand to the sides of the stage instead of at the center, but for me, it's because the center always feels way too crowded. I've gotten squished against the barriers before and that's an awful feeling, especially when the compression's so bad that it feels like I can't breathe. All the shows I've been to have had the band stop and tell people to step back, but it still doesn't feel safe, so I stick to the sides. Definitely feel you on the crowdsurfers though. I've gotten hit in the head a few times, which is kinda weird because I'm really short, so how did that person's foot fly over all those heads to hit mine?
