First person POV. I just can't do it. And in a tiny fandom I used to read fic for, the most prolific writer wrote in first person POV.

First person POV is hard to pull off, but it's good when the writer has a good grasp of the character. SECOND person POV is an instant back button from me. I even have it in my blacklist.

I love first person POV in books, but not in fics. I like getting in a fictional character's head, but I can't immerse myself in a fic that's first person POV because the "voice" the author's made for them doesn't match the one I have in my head.

I feel similarly. I don't prefer first person POV in original fiction, but it isn't a deal breaker for me the way it is with fanfic, because with original fiction I have no preconceived notions of what that character's voice ought to be like.

NAYRT - For me, if the source material is in first person, it doesn’t bother me. Otherwise, I’m with you.
