Celebrated yesterday, because I'm in that part of the world, and let me just say my mother is awesome. We began the festivities by taking a nap, then the rest of the day went by in peace and quiet. We ate a moderate amount of the best foods, watched a little bit of TV, had long conversations and sat on the couch using our devices.

She watched her favorite YouTubers (she's 77 and into knitting/gardening YouTube) and I read fic on my phone. It was a completely stress free Christmas! (My gift to her was washing machine cleaner and she loved it XD)

We did our Christmas yesterday since the kids needed to go to their dad's this year. So today I mostly laid about.

my sunday is already nearing its end and the only "christmasy" thing that made today different from usual sundays was the near incessant ringing of church bells >>

It's possible to have beef with a certain group of smug Christians without pissing on the entire holiday. You might find it hard to believe, but a lot of folks have found something to love about it, and dumping on others' holiday celebrations (or lack of) is the furthest thing from their minds.

But I hope you're having a nice Sunday, however you spend it.

I'm not even Christian but you sound at least ten times more insufferably sanctimonious than the other anon. Plenty of non-Christian people celebrate Christmas. Go cry in a corner if you can't deal with that.

You don't have to be Christian to celebrate Christmas. My family is a mix of atheists, Jews, and people with a vague "I believe in a higher power, but am not sure what it is" stance, and we love Christmas. It's more a commercial holiday than a religious one at this point, at least where I live.

There was nothing dismissive about the anon above you. And just because there’s some awful Christians who look down on people who don’t celebrate Christmas for any reason doesn’t mean everyone who celebrates Christmas is like that. Some aren’t even Christian. Because Christmas is just a winter festival to some people, and it’s just as valid as the Christian version.

So fuck you too for generalizing everyone who celebrates Christmas in any way, and for choosing to go after the people like the anon who started the thread above you who are earnestly trying to be inclusive to people who don’t celebrate Christmas in their well-wishes. In calling others dismissive, you’ve outed yourself as the actual smug person here.

For the first time in years I hadn't drawn anything to celebrate Halloween or Christmas for my fandoms, so I'm trying to work up some inspiration to draw a few things for the new year.

I've also finally been getting round to typing up fanfics from my notebooks and I really love getting into the flow of essentially writing my second draft. Half of them are weird stuff for my anon account, but still enjoying the process nonetheless.

Also I've been making plans to paint on a denim jacket - just deciding on either drawing Gonzo from the Muppets or Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors.
