OP
(Anonymous) 2022-12-26 06:31 am (UTC)(link)I still haven't watched the youtube video itself yet (sorry, ADHD. Have to get in The Zone for it), but it seems like others in the youtube comments have still have some interest in watching Wes Anderson films. Maybe I'll eventually try another one of his films, as I was interested in Isle of Dogs. I was just so surprised to see how hard I bounced off my very first attempt lol. My mom didn't like the movie either.
Thank you once again for the video recommendation! By the other comments here not really getting what bothered me about this film, I'm grateful to find some confirmation with my feelings and can see it wasn't a neurotypical/autism divide but instead something else.
Re: OP
tbh, I probably wouldn't look Anderson for anything that considers the POC perspective. that simply isn't what he's doing. but I do think Grand Budapest Hotel is probably his least annoying film in that regard.
and yeah, as someone with who is neurodivergent who liked fantastic mr fox: i do think some characters just annoy you even when you get what the creator is doing and that's ok.
