Oh Len and Ren. I can't really get into their music all the time because synthezised voices aren't my thing, but man oh man I do love the strange fandom and histories that have sprung up around them. And yes... they are my guiltiest of guilty pleasure ships too. I really don't have a defense for it, the 'Evil' series just makes me all misty-eyed and I was sold ever since.

Maybe you should try looking for some of the utatte mita/"tried singing"/fandub versions of Vocaloid songs. I don't really like the synthesized voices either, but some of the songs are actually pretty awesome when real people sing them. (Of course, then you've got to sift through all the covers by fans who think they can sing but really, really can't...)

Oh, my goodness, the Evil series. One of the only two Vocaloid series that actually make me teary. Have you checked out the two Kokoro songs, too?

If not, Len's version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mvmL4Yx7eyk&fmt=18) and Rin's version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FGD0syOFKgk&fmt=18). In that order. There are a lot of varyingly baw-worthy videos made to the two songs, but those are like... the definitive versions for me (and I never fail to have blurry vision by the end of Len's, ha).

I sure don't! I know a lot of people who don't.
They're TWINS ;_; I prefer them to have a cute sibling relationship.

I know -- that was hyperbole. I don't really ship it either, as twincest isn't my thing. It just seems... very common, is all. I'm not really properly in the fandom, though, so maybe I'm wrong. I'm just basing my observation on the fact that it's harder to find videos of their songs that don't have twincesty undertones than ones that do (in my experience).

There seem to be three schools of thought: OMG THEY'RE SIBLINGS THEY'RE NOT TOGETHER THAT'S INCEST IT'S GROSS; OMG THEY'RE MIRROR IMAGES LIKE THE DEVELOPERS SAID THAT'S NOT INCEST; and OMG IT DEPENDS ON YOUR INTERPRETATION OKAY. The debates in Youtube comments get pretty vehement, in the crazed 13-year-old fangirl way.
