Can't believe I'm saying this... but I'm glad it is blue, white and yellow, mimicking her hair, and not pink, mimicking her dress, like I feared.

Not like I have anything against pink! I'm just tired of the old "she is a girl, her mecha should be colored pink" cliche in mecha anime.

I am so with you, OP. I wasn't that excited for Gurren-hen (and I still haven't watched it, uh whoops, I should do that), but this just handles so many of the issues I had with the series itself that I just...

I am so not used to my canons actually doing things to fix my disappointment in them and give me what I want. THIS IS A NEW FEELING ;A;

I'm sorry to be the one to break this to you... but there are two movies.

Gurren-hen and Lagann-hen. Gurren-hen, the one you're talking about, only covers the first half of the series. Lagann-hen, the one secret 108 is talking about, covers the second half.

Ah, I was wondering if there would be a secret about this eventually. XD

It does seem to fix a lot of things people had problems with in the TV series or add things people wanted to see more of. After all, the 3rd and 4th arcs were pretty rushed compared to the first half of the series (though I liked the second half more for the story), so it almost feels like it's been done more properly this time. I kinda worry whether this is going to affect my enjoyment of the original series, even though I love it so much already...

But then, it seems the movie cuts out or changes a lot of good scenes from the TV series too, and the movies wouldn't have been possible if it weren't for the TV series existing first. So I guess watching both equals maximum enjoyment. (Hell, that goes for the novels and manga too.) In any case, though maybe it could be said for Gurren-hen, I don't think people can claim anymore that Lagann-hen is unnecessarily milking the fans for money, since the staff did work very hard and turned out a quality product.

(Also, Viral's comment about Adiane might have come from when Messenger Nia attacks him actually. Which I think is even better lol.)
