On Stargate the baby meant that Teyla got more screentime and I'm not a fan of Teyla to begin with. That being said there was a lot of things the writers/producers got wrong, mainly firing actors so they could replace them with other actors who the producers would draw in more viewers (they didn't)
As for Angel, most of the people on The Farscape Project/Lounge thought the ending of the ep where Connor was born was awful. Pushing the pram out of the hospital in slow-motion with nauseating music.
The part in an another ep where Angel could only get Connor to settle by going vamp!face was hilarious though.
I find the shows where they plan a pregnancy in advance and have the actor wear a prosthetic are usually far better than the 'oh shit, actress is pregnant, we have to write the pregnancy (usually badly) into the show)
