Because it's painfully obvious that the secret is just from someone in her circlejerk and I felt like laughing at the fact that people find inspiration in a 27-year-old whose idea of job searching is going to Comic-Con with the same crap year after year and whose mother won't let her work in retail. Talk about high aspirations.

Art and storytelling = art and storytelling. Whether it's with her original characters or with her original characters who use the names of fandom characters doesn't really matter much.

Okay, I'll give you that much, but if you honestly hold a three line journal entry to the same standards as a fleshed out original story, I think you're taking it way too seriously!

I hold characters to the standard of characterization. That thing where you somehow make a character a different person than yourself. If she can't do that in something as simple as a three-line journal entry, she can't do it in a fleshed out original story.

I'm inclined to disagree. In RP, you take on the character's personas and you approach everything from the first person. You essentially 'become' that character in-game. It's not at all unusual for that character to be influenced by you or for the character to influence you. Some influence more than others, and that's all about the roleplayer's style.

This is entirely not the case when you are a third party that has created an entire universe full of characters. While the story itself might have traces of her personality (and MOST good stories have a certain...unique flow to them, like em or hate em), I find her characters to all be unique. There is only one character from her two comic projects that I can even remotely consider a 'self-insert', and that's mostly spawned from the fact that she roleplays him as well.

But regardless of whether or not she is a good storyteller, the question remains - why the hell do you care? I honestly don't understand why you would bother to stir up wank here.

That's a fault in style then. You become the character, the character does not become you. That's kind of a misnomer anyway since they never became her, they were just her from the start. She's admitted it herself, and while it has been pointed out to her, she's done nothing to fix it. That's lazy, stubborn, and immature.

Once again, I'm not stirring up wank. I laughed because I found it funny. It's not my problem if a bunch of her friends decide to leap to her defense. I'm not replying if you guys aren't.

That doesn't mean people aren't allowed at all. If they want to be like her, they can go right ahead. I'd prefer it if they didn't, but that's life.

That would be distressing if I were trying to convince you. What difference does it make to me whether some internet stranger thinks I'm lying about her feelings about me? I have nothing to hold a grudge over.

Ah. Well, my point is that Cammi is (as far as I've ever known her) an ultimately good person with a creative ambition, however life and pretendytiem life have turned out for her.
