Agreed. I love all of the official designs, but there was a lot of potential in the concepts too. Naoto's is probably my favorite.

But some of the officials are WAY better than the concepts too, I.E. Kanji, Dojima, Teddie, etc.

It was probably just a matter of the design team's tastes in the end.

Oho, was Naoto still a girl then, or is this a sketch of a male!Naoto? Also, what was Rise's original design? Heck, are there links somewhere of all the old design sketches on the internet or is it all just for people who buy artbooks?

I liked all of their original designs (all right, except for Kanji's), but I also love their final designs. The original designs seem somewhat more stylish, but the final designs are more personable I think.

I like Naoto's game look, but I'll admit, her other versions had a lot of potential. This one does definitely appeal more to her character conflicts and drama.

I also love Rise's original design. It seemed less common (haha, I',m not sure how to word it). IT was super cute too. ♥

I really liked Rise's concept, too, but I think for the actual Rise that was in the game, it wouldn't have really worked. I do hope they revisit that idea, though, because it was a pretty cool design.
