I knew about Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr., but I didn't know about Will Ferrel. I was absurdly happy that they cast Jude Law to play Watson, because I really hope that means they're going back to the suave, intelligent debonair Watson of the stories rather than the idiot character that he has been since Nigel Bruce played him. Yes, I know it's kinda pathetic to be so upset about serials that are 60-odd years old, based on a series of stories that are 120 years old. I don't really care, though- dammit, they screwed up Watson, and it looks like the new movie is gonna do him right! Yay!

I think both are good ideas and I am a huge SH fan. Isn't Farrell playing Watson and Sasha Cohen playing Holmes? That combination might be either really funny and good or a true trainwreck. Same goes for the Robert Downey version.
