A bit of rusticity is one thing, but being a family whose estate is in the country doesn't mean that the gentleman and head of the household is going to be personally mucking around in the stables. Mr. Bennet is still a certain level of rich (below Mr. Bingley and Mr. Darcy, sure) that takes place geographically in a rural area. In the novel, Mrs. Bennet makes a note of fussing about Mr. Collins' faux pas of assuming that one or any of his female cousins had a hand in preparing dinner, because that's not something a gentleman's daughter generally would've done, even in the country.
