Well, I was obsessed out of my mind with Watchmen for about a month after it came out, but then real life happened and I stopped being as obsessed. I'm still a fan, though.

I am one of only three BNFs in my fandom (it's a pretty little one).

With the exception of me, my best friend, and like... maybe two other people, every single person in my fandom is either a pretentious fucking moron who is 'too good' for fandom (like posts in the main comm whining about how they hate fanfic and can we not fuck this show up with it?), or they are a fucking slash-goggled cuntswab who squees and squees every time two male characters are in a room together.

Love the show. Love my friends. Fucking hate the fandom.

And btw, to the other two BNFs?

Number one, pretty much everyone hates you. You are a nasty egotistical bitch, and the only reason people bother with you is because you spit out art (it's really not even that good, but you're semi-famous IRL, so whatever). I swear to god, the next time you talk down to me about ANYTHING, I will lay the motherfucking smackdown on you. That thing where you told me all about how you know my hometown better than I do -- AFTER YOU ASKED FOR RECOMMENDATIONS IN IT -- was the last motherfucking straw.

And number two? You are really only a BNF because you are super-creepy. Like, ultra super-creepy. Just stop. That actor is not going to date you, no matter how many times you chase him down at cons. Leave that poor man alone. And also, shut your fat mouth and tend to your poor son, who is basically neglected while you spend time in your various fandoms.

I think in that fandom it is just for the pretty, but in other fandoms, I think genderswap fic can be a viable outlet for exploring characterization.

I hate genderswap for the sake of making a pairing yaoi/yuri/het, but the AU type/exploring character is fine by me.

I wish there were more healthy, good-looking plus-size characters. Promoting unfitness or "she's beautiful on the inside!" both don't count. For once I'd like to see an attractive character who happens to be big-boned and healthy and owning it.
