F!S ANON MEME

Figured it was about time we had one. You know what to do. (:

(and if you don't, there's always google.)

Sometimes I wish I could write slash and porn and sex just so I could be more popular. Judging by the response to my writing, which is purely gen, I could be a BNF if I did similar stuff with popular pairings. But the fact is that I really don't like slash and porn and sex, possibly because I was once sexually absued. And yet I think about writing it just to be more popular. LOL FAIL ON SO MANY LEVELS WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME.

Alternatively, it would be nice if gen was as popular as slash, because then I would be more popular. But I know that that will never happen, so you know. Whatever. I really should not care about these stupid popularity contests on internet over fanfic, which will never really mean anything, but I can't help that I care anyway.

I know how you feel, bby. Writing's not about popularity BUT DAMN WOULDN'T SOME OF THAT POPULARITY BE NICE? :/

My pornfics are insanely popular. I posted a genfic that was at least as good, probably the best composed thing I've ever done, and got three comments.

I just remind myself not to care, mostly. We do this for ourselves, right? :/

Also, don't ever do anything you're not comfortable with just for fandom popularity. That will NOT lead you to a good place, you know it. Take good care of yourself, anon.

You kind of answered yourself there, anon. Don't write it if you're not comfortable doing so.
I understand the need to have the readership, but really- just focus on your content. Going by what you're saying- people seem to enjoy your work as it is, I'm guessing- just focus on doing that.

Internet popularity is for the birds, anon. Do what makes you happy and doesn't compromise yourself for anyone. :D

I echo what they said. Do what makes you comfortable.

And don't worry about the comments or lack there of. I will sometimes read a fic but not leave a comment even if I liked it. Why? Because I can't think of anything more witty other than "I liked this". And that seems so lame to say. But sometimes I just can't come up with anything more meaningful.
