Inappropriate Glee

[personal profile] tabaqui 2023-01-17 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
Or maybe appropriate.... A case manager at the shelter I work at was fired. Mostly because they were doing a shit job, AND they literally endangered at least two clients. When we all got the text that she was gone, I did a little happy dance in my chair.

More stuff keeps turning up about how bad they were at their job, and i am SO happy they are gone, holy fuck.

The energy at work is already better.

There is nothing better than getting rid of a terrible coworker, whether they move or something else.

I worked with this crappy, incompetent person once, and it was a relief when she went on maternity leave. There was miraculously no change in the workload. And then she decided not to come back. And there was much celebrating!

Yup. Suddenly we're all just feeling like we can actually get shit DONE, instead of constantly having to backtrack and fix crap and check up on stuff.

They actually exited a person from shelter (elderly woman) to an apartment with NO FURNITURE (or plates, cups, cooking pots), NO FOOD, NO MONEY, and NO PHONE. In a town they were unfamiliar with. Oh - and no transportation of any kind (there is no public transport around here).

Every one of us were appalled and furious and only found out about it a day or so after the fact. This poor woman was sleeping on the floor on her clothes.

She pretty much was, took a couple days, but FINALLY.

I think I vaguely recall you mentioning that person before. Glad to hear they got their walking papers.

I probably did; they were just incredibly frustrating.

I had one of these. She would always do the bare minimum and often incorrectly so you'd never assign it to her again, "forget" to do things you asked her to do, and get "so upset" at random things that she just HAD to leave early.

I was so happy when she got fired.

Oh man, yes. This one brown-nosed her way to the Executive Director and convinced her that we had to hire a sort of 'floater' who would do the cleaning and running around and deal with cleaning client rooms when they left, etc.

All things she didn't want to do, and all things that we had all done, collectively, just fine before she got there. So friggin' lazy.

I had one of these once, she was so bad everyone quit except me and the manager, and one other employee who was planning to transfer to another location in a couple weeks. The day the terrible employee quit (to avoid being probably fired) it was a Thursday evening, we had so much stuff going on and the manager got stuck with an angry customer after hours, and me and the transferring employee were cleaning up after the terrible one...and despite everything we were just *giddy* with glee because she was gone at last. There's really something about that one awful person leaving that makes any extra workload worth it.

Right? Last night i was using the front office bathroom (back office one on the fritz), and I cleaned it before my shift change, and I DIDN'T EVEN MIND, because I knew the rest of my colleagues would do the same, while craptastic colleague NEVER would.
