Re: WTF moments when reading fan fiction?

Yeah.

It was a long fic, that started with a couple who had been going through some relationship stress. One was a cop, the other a nurse.

The nurse gets kidnapped by an evil ex and spends a month in a basement being tortured by someone saying Why Won't You Love Me?

The cop plus friends are clearly wearing themselves out trying to find the nurse, it's valid.

As soon as the nurse got rescued from imprisonment and torture by an ex... the cop looms over him while he's still confined in his hospital bed and demands that the nurse clarify their relationship.

...

...

I asked the writer about this, and apparently the cop 'had to work through some feelings' as he loomed over a man who'd recently been tortured and said things 'menacingly' (adverb from the fic).

Apparently they lived happily ever after??

I've read this multiple times, and I still think "wtf" at feeling jealousy(?) at the nurse.
