Oh, and when I went to visit him yesterday, the door from the stairwell onto the floor wasn't guarded

Wait, is that like... a common thing or something? Because I had a family member who ended up being in the hospital for a while last year and I definitely don't remember that being a thing there.

I have no idea if it is common. Every other Dallas hospital I've been to has doors where you need to be buzzed in by staff in order to get in.
