Welp, I think because personally, what is there to get? Jake barely had any interaction or anything that alluded the chemistry with Phoenix, he came, spoke weird, had a rocking theme and then left as quick as he arrived. Phoenix was pretty much just dumbstruck by the guy, so there's not really a lot to get in the first place.

Not gonna knock on someone 'cause they ship for the pretty, but beyond the pretty there's... really not a lot to this pairing in my eyes.

I don't know either. Something about Dan's frustration through that whole scenario (I liked that scene better in the comic personally, but that doesn't change that I thought the same thing for the movie) and his impotency was, interesting.

Maybe it's because so much of fanfic and fanart don't ever show that? So it's new? I don't know.

See, but now you're no longer describing the competitive environment. Competitive battling is 100% using the most effective strategies to try and win. If you don't like that, people are always holding "favourites" tournaments with more egalitarian approaches. But when the sole objective is to pit your wits, knowledge and prediction against other people, it's not "arrogant" to choose not to disadvantage yourself for some kind of weird Pokemon socialism.

Yes, because getting out of a deal is an easy thing. And I'm pretty sure by making the deal, it negated anything she could do with devil's traps or anything. That's what the deal was for. The YED said that he didn't want her soul and that if he wasn't interrupted, no one would get hurt. He was right, it wasn't a bad deal.

Just because you're a hunter doesn't negate bad decisions regarding the supernatural. Both John and Dean made deals when circumstances were a lot less dire. She lost everything and just wanted to be normal and considering that for all we know, the YED didn't show up ten years on the mark (not that she would probably even notice, considering she was giving birth), what was she supposed to do? Live in fear for the rest of her life like John? That's a better way to live her life?
