You know, if you've gotten to the point where you aren't finding any fic you enjoy and you aren't getting any pleasure from the meta, it's time for you to back out of the fandom and go elsewhere.

I wish people understood that they don't have to belong to a fandom to write fic, or have a ship, or enjoy a show. It's absolutely possible to write/read/ and watch a show casually. I'll dip into a fandom when I get a sudden yen for a certain kind of fic. I'll read it, if it exists, and then I'll be satisfied and move on. And if the fic doesn't exists and I yen for it strong enough, I'll write it myself, and maybe even post it (but maybe not).

It's not an all in/all out deal.

But I like the meta. I like everything ELSE about it. The people aren't fucking crazy, the discussions are fun, and the general quality of works is very good. I just get agitated at the lack of things that pander to my selfish desires.
