If someone came along in the middle of the night to whisk you away on a magical adventure, what would your adventuring outfit be?

First thing that came to mind was some sort of medieval monk garb.

Honestly I might keep the pajamas, hopefully I'll get new clothes on the adventure and what if I was wearing my best coat and it got ruined by blood or swords or something?

Tee, jeans, and a hoodie. I figure it'll serve me well for most types of adventures.

Which tee depends entirely on what sort of adventure this is.

I have a long, hooded black velvet cloak. I always figured if I was going on an adventure, I would wear that. Trousers, because I feel like they would be better suited to more things, definitely with pockets. Maybe a sweater for a top or a thermal shirt. I'm thinking sturdy shoes would be good.

Lego jammies, the ones from Target a couple years ago. Which would annoy me because there are no pockets! If it’s warm weather then I’ll be in my bamboo dino jammies and those DO have pockets but they were sewn with cotton thread so the pockets don’t actually hold anything. I’ll have to get a sewing kit and then I’ll be super annoyed at myself that I kept not getting around to mending them on the serger when I had the chance for like a billion years.

Oh I read the question as if you didn’t get to trade out. Although I usually have my daytime clothes right by the bed so might get to grab them.

If I get to change after leaving, I want a cloak! And also something with pockets. And a belt.

If I had to leave in what I was wearing when they came in, then saggy cotton bike shorts and a loose t-shirt.

If I could pick my outfit, then it depends on the season, and if I knew where we were going. I'm one of those perpetually-so-cold-I'm-shivering people, so my first instinct is to bring my long Super Puff coat, because it's the only thing I own that genuinely keeps me warm. However, the fabric of it is pretty thin, so if we're going to the wilderness or something then it will probably get snagged and torn in a hurry. So if we're going somewhere woodsy, then long-sleeve heat-tech shirt, then sweater, then big sweatshirt over top, then my tough-as-nails oversized leather jacket, plus heat-tech leggings over jeans, and wool socks over thinner socks, and my winter boots, gloves, and wool scarf. Hot Shots, spare socks and underwear, first aid kit, backpack.

If we're going somewhere warm, then I guess jeans over bike shorts, a sweatshirt over a tank top, and sturdy sneakers I could hike in, plus backpack w/ spare socks/undies and first aid kit.

Something with comfy shoes.

Comfy clothing. If I’m saving the world I want to be comfy while doing so. I don’t care if I’m in my jammies or leggings as long as I don’t have to wear a corset or shit that pinches.

I hate pants and only own one pair that I'd have to dig from the bottom of my clothes pile, but probably them; they're linen and have pockets, so would be good for warm weather and carrying stuff (at least two pairs of undies and a couple pads in one pocket and two of socks in another, plus a little bottle of ibuprofen, and a handful of matches in a plastic bag and a lighter if I can unearth one from my junk drawer (but I don't smoke and know no one who does.)

One of my less awful bras. My sheepskin boots which would suck in summer but are warm and sturdy and have good tread. A tank top, a long sleeve shirt, and at least one sweater. A long skirt with pockets over the linen pants. The crocheted wool hat my mom made my dad before I was born.

And my crossbody purse/messenger bag with more ibuprofen, needle, thread, my keys and multitool, a hairbrush, deodorant, toothbrush and toothpaste, a bar of soap in a ziplock baggie, more matches, a pair of sandals, and my bandaid tin wallet. A bottle of iodine and/or tube of neosporin. And depending on the adventure, my phone and charging cable and wall plug and portable chargers in case this is more urban fantasy than high fantasy. Oh, and snacks.

I would probably still die before I hit three days in, mind you.

Things I sleep in - t-shirt and boxer short. Maybe my long cardigan if I had a minute.
But frankly I would rather stay home

If I could choose, athleisure wear. But I also assume someone who could magically whisk me away could magically get me appropriate clothes for where we were going.

Comfortable sneakers, well fitted socks, either loose pj pants or comfortable jeans, a comfortable bra with good support that's wire free (soaks up sweat and still keeps me dry!) and a tee shirt...I suppose. I'm really hoping the adventure will be full of running around and playing and dressing up! I want to be comfortable.
