Antis get het up about adults being in fandom, especially if it's a fandom for a thing for kids, but nothing is safe. Things that kids technically shouldn't be watching (e.g. Hannibal, Our Flag Means Death) have kids in the fandom who think it's their space that adults are nasty for being in.
I used to find that hard to understand, because do antis expect to stop liking fun when they're adults? If adults don't belong in fandom, where will antis go when they grow up?
But, of course. Antis will still be in fandom. They'll be 30, telling people over 50 that they're too old and being there is creepy, and also telling people under 20 that they're too young and being there is... also creepy, probably. Unless fandom corrects itself, the right age for fandom will always be whatever age the current generation of antis is.
