by concept alone i don't trust legal eagle, because sometimes he comments on legal practice and that doesn't make sense for him to do imo unless he's talking about clerking or the specific california/indiana/dc practices in the specific areas he worked on. lawyers are like doctors in that it's a bad idea for pulmonary doctor to start talking about how a reconstructive surgeon operates, even if there's overlap and even if they studied it in school. practice is nigh on impossible to research, because the states are very idiosyncratic.

so honestly, it's for the best that he keeps to ideal conclusions.

alison on the other hand often mentions when she thinks a perspective is unethical (but common) or when commenters or time has changed her mind, so those criticisms for her are particularly off-base imo.
