I've watched the first five episodes (there's a total of seven). The first two were amazing, three was still really good, four was okay, but five was really, really difficult to watch. I haven't read the books, and episode five really changed how I felt about the show. I'm honestly not sure I'm going to watch the last two...part of me wants to, but at the same time I really don't.

I don't want to spoil anything in case you end up watching, but if domestic violence is a trigger for you, I would steer clear. I mean, it's a vampire show, so obviously it's not going to be all rainbows and puppies, but I wasn't expecting domestic violence, especially as brutal as one particular scene was.
