I could never get into Shassie, Shawn/Gus was my OTP.

Yeah, Shassie never worked for me the way Shawn/Gus and Shawn/Gus/Jules does.

Interestly, once I got into Shassie I liked Shawn/Gus less - I started feeling like they needed to be with different people to grow as people (especially Gus).

Not that Lassie is that person for Shawn particularly - I just brute forced the 'enemies to lovers' switch on in my brain for them, lol
