Or you could celebrate that one gem, and treasure it.

<shrug> I have a folder for those -- excellent stories that are the only one the author wrote for that fandom. Unfortunately, the muse can be a random, contrary critter, and sometimes will only help the author with that single story. But... at least I got to enjoy that 'one', and will reread it occasionally when I'm in the mood.
