Christian literature, man...

(Anonymous) 2023-02-17 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
Christian artist is practically an oxymoron. They have the weirdest brains.

(Anonymous) 2023-02-17 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
The problem is they're "Christian" first and artists a rather distant second.

It's funny how you seldom find JS Bach in self-described Christian bookstores that sell music...

AYRT

That's it! That's why it's all such bad art!

DA

Hard agree.

(Anonymous) 2023-02-17 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
Agreed. It takes a 'special' kind of person to write to the list of demands christian book publishers (all 2 of them, I swear, but they are big) demand.

Then you get the ones who will write something b/c they feel "God Told Me To" and it's like "maybe you should have said no."

Yup. There are some musicians who happen to be Christian who do all kinds of music. Like, I like Plumb and Switchfoot.

Those sound terrible. HOnestly, regardless of the beliefs of the author, I hate books where the preaching is so strong it gets in the way of a good story. Even if I believe with the message, I want a message to be shown to the audience through the story. Don't preach at your readers.

(Anonymous) 2023-02-17 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that's what I was thinking as I read this secret, too.

(Anonymous) 2023-02-17 02:13 am (UTC)(link)
These sound fucking hilarious! Christian literature in general cracks me up. No one who writes that shit is capable of critical thinking and anyone capable of critical thinking would write it.

Anyone capable of critical thinking *wouldn’t write it

(Anonymous) 2023-02-17 10:05 am (UTC)(link)
Okay I KNOW this is a repeat secret from a long time ago because I remember how batshit it was the first time.

(Anonymous) 2023-02-17 02:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I could've sworn I saw this secret in a recent Secrets You Don't Want to Make thread.

(Anonymous) 2023-02-18 05:39 am (UTC)(link)
I remember the pictures of the books though so I know this is a repeat, like that Fiddler on the Roof secret a couple of days ago.
