Young media consumers who unknowingly want to bring back the Hays Code. They believe a person's taste in fiction reflects their values and morals in real life and are obsessed with calling out artists/works/charcters/ships that they deem problematic. Often found in literary spaces like BookTok.

Usually very progressive in all other areas of their lives, so they won't listen to anyone trying to tell them these beliefs are conservative/regressive.

Oh wow, I didn't know that consuming media with dystopian themes meant I actually want to live in a dystopia! Or that loving horror films as a kid fed my desire to run around the woods terrorizing folks with a sharp weapon! Who knew?

Ah well, maybe these folks will figure it out one day.
