I actually think the internet is partially responsible for normies not seeing anime as degenerate porn anymore. It used to be that if I told people I liked anime, they'd almost always say "Why do you like weird cartoon porn?" (usually in a more politely phrased way, but that was the gist) That almost never happens anymore because most non-fandom people are at least passingly familiar with some popular anime.

Not sure? I would think that Pokemon or Sailor Moon are more popular than Boku no Pico.

Well, yes. I'm saying people don't think all anime is porn anymore, because now they know what popular anime there are so they think of shows like Pokemon and Sailor Moon when I say I like anime.

Oh, okay. But Pokemon and Sailor Moon (and before that Speed Racer or whatever) were on TV so why would they think it is all porn? Unless they were exposed to anime hentai on the Internet, lol. We seem to be talking about different age cohorts maybe.
