Can I have some context for this? Because just out of the blue, I'm so confused.

I watched most of TNG, until Gene Roddenberry died, but then the show became quite dark and my mother thought it would give me nightmares. And Trek was something I watched with her, so Deep Space Nine kind of passed me by. But ... ??

There's an episode early on in the DS9 run where Sisko punches out Q and then Q says "Picard never hit me".

In other words, the show asks us to compare the two! Mostly early on, admittedly - it goes away in later seasons. But it's there in the show, fans didn't make it up.
