But why single out Tailor Swift? Not like this isn't the same for just about every pop star. And at least she does write her own songs.

Because unlike most of the other artists this would apply to, Taylor Swift’s fans are ridiculously easily offended by someone saying that maybe she’s not that deep.

I think that's true, and I don't have any particular love or hate for Taylor Swift (I like some of her songs that happen to end up getting a lot of airtime but I'm not buying her stuff or listening to whole albums), Taylor fans can probably chill, since it's not like she's fighting an uphill battle to be professionally recognized or to sell records.

It's like stanning for Microsoft or some other successful, billion-dollar company. It doesn't matter if some people think it sucks.

“I think she’s overrated” isn’t shitting on her though and it’s not particularly gleeful. Taylor Swift’s fanbase is just that sensitive. Every fandom has stans, but in most of them, that level of aggressive defensiveness is considered fringe in the portion of the fan base that is over 18.
