Another vent

I just want to scream my head off in a late vent but I didn't want to jack someone else's thread.

Things haven't been great at work lately, and I'm pretty sure (well, okay, it's possible it's just paranoia... I hope it's just paranoia) everyone's reconsidering what little value I bring to work. Well, by their standards. I've had kind of a stressful few months for various reasons, but I decided to return to a non-work commitment for the time being (I'm reconsidering that myself, but since I'm a coward and hate how small my world has shrunk already, I haven't decided whether or not I'll stick to things or "take a break"). This commitment has eaten up my weekends, so I tend to be wiped out Mondays. I finally decided to put in some time off for the upcoming Monday, but it went unacknowledged ever since I requested it earlier in the month. I did cancel some other time with the intention that would make for it.

Yes, I know nobody is a mind reader. Yes, I know things are busy and people are prone to missing things and it's only going to get worse for the foreseeable future. Yes, I know we were told not to put in too much time off, but in my defense, I put in that request before we were told that. Well, now I've been given a meeting first thing Monday (my requested time off), and not only is it mandatory, but one of the higher ups will be on it too. So I'll barely be functional AND have to answer a lot of questions I really don't want to have to fucking answer first thing in the fucking Monday morning. Which is totally the look I want after a dismal employee review.

I wouldn't be half as pissed off if I'd been given a heads up about the timing of the time off (and like I said, it's possible it just got overlooked), but now I have to cut my weekend short because of this. And it still won't guarantee I'll be functional Monday morning.

I dunno how much of this makes sense and probably just sounds like entitled whining. And I'm sorry, I probably won't elaborate. I just wanted to scream into the void. Just fuck my fucking life.
