I don't know if this makes sense, but IMO, it's about what authors want (both physically and emotionally) from their characters but... those wants are very complex. I don't think menwritingwomen is solely about boobs, even though they're an obvious marker of that type of writing. And I don't think it can be fulfilled by porn because they're aiming for something more personalized and tailored. Just like women are when they write about weepy male characters who just want to be loved (and sexed up) to heal all their manly hurts or whatever.
But I'm not a straight man, so this is just spitballing here.
