i think there's a lot of new horror out there that is just silly ghost or haunted house stories, you just have to dig deeper to find it. imo those types of stories never scared me, so i like the extra depth

I generally want there to be a metaphorical component to horror, because horror just tends to feel kind of flat and pointless to me without that. However, I feel like the ideal is for the movie to still hold up, even if you completely ignore any metaphorical dimension and just consider it purely as a movie about a scary monster or whatever.

As a horror fan who watches more than 100 horror movies a year (obviously not all recent), there absolutely is not lack of silly horror movies out there. They usually are pretty stupid, though, and thus receive low ratings. If you're mainly watching horror movies that are getting reccomended around by film critics, you're going to end up mostly with movies that attempt to have a deeper meaning or metaphor (some succeed, others fail miserably).

Horror movies almost always have some kind of deeper metaphor somewhere if you look out for it, but slashers and hunting houses stories are your best bet if you want to turn off your brain. There are A LOT of new movies like that out there.

For example: the conjuring and all its spinoffs is pretty old school "silly" horror about exactly what you're asking for.

Not in your fandom but I agree that it is very cute, more than ugly. Does it remind me of my vacuum cleaner I nicknamed Pikachu? Yes, but that's a good thing in my book.

Huh. I didn't know planespotting was a thing (they fly so high! so fast! how?!!), but that *is* an interesting fandom and favorite. :D

My favorite is the Beechcraft Model 17 Staggerwing. I even have a tattoo of it (memorial for my dad, 'cause it was his favorite, too).

I'm a proud lover of ugly aircraft and I have to tell you, OP, this one is adorable.

Also, love to see a planespotter here on DW! Planespotting databases is where I find a lot of aircraft photos, it's so great that people share that stuff online.

BTW, my own favorite ugly-cute plane is the Cmelak Z-37 crop duster!

It’s not spot on, but as someone who was 11 in 1999, it’s close enough for me. I looked at the collection on the website, and I remember the hippie and alien stuff.

I imagine that they could go with an iMac g3 because of legal reasons. I don’t know about anyone else, but talk about a dream computer. That and the Ericsson T10. You better believe that the goal was to have all of your personal electronics in a colour that expresses your personality. Down with all these space greys, bring back the blueberry laptops!
