oh, OK, my mistake.
There are some found footage horror moves I really like and some I don't like at all.

NAYRT

Which ones do you recommend?

I like Blair Witch Project which started the whole thing of course and I also really like the first two V/H/S movies. I didn't like Paranormal Activity at all. I've also heard REC is really good but I haven't seen it yet.

I can highly recommend REC (the 2007 spanish original, that is - in 2008 it got a US remake although that was titled "Quarantine" so at least there won't be any title confusion)

Also, it made my day that you like BWP, I saw it in theatres and had nightmares after but I know so many people who think it's a boring slog.

Seconding the rec (heh) for REC. Such an effective horror movie, IMO. Maybe even close to perfect. Like I can only think of one place where my immersion was broken by an off note, and it was a pretty minor off note. (Though I haven't seen any of the sequels and I don't like any of the conclusive answers we apparently got from them.)

Ngl I watched REC with a friend when it came out and during the final segment I basically looked away 90% of the time. They did such a great job at raising the tension. I never watched any of the sequels and I don't think they were needed, usually a story's lore is made much worse when they try to show and explain everything (especially for horror).

+1 for Blair Witch Project (and its amazing soundtrack)

The Devil's Doorway (2018) isn't too bad, I gave it 3 ½ stars out of 5

V/H/S94 has two great segments with the rest being forgettable, especially the bookend story was painfully bad. But "Storm Drain" and "The Subject" (incredibly gory and depressing, so warnings for that) are definitely worth it.

Incantation (2022) is a Taiwanese found footage horror with some very creative lore and use of afterimages. Warning that the english dub is acted so awfully that it tends to pull people out of the story and I recommend finding the subtitled original.

Creep (2014) was surprisingly unsettling and well-acted, so that gets a thumbs-up from me as well.

Creep is one of my favorites! Incantation had some great moments and a fun twist (though I had either a very ill-timed or very well-timed eyelash, depending on your point of view, and missed a crucial shot...)

I'll have to add V/H/S94 to my watch list.

Oh and I forgot to mention Ghostwatch (1992), which caused a lot of furor because it was presented as a live broadcast. It's available on the Internet Archive.
