The story has poor Bucky dealing with constant memory loss. He'll go on missions and do things and progress the plot. And then on the next mission he's just like "???". Anyway. On one of the last missions a medic is looking him over and is like "How'd you get shot?" and he's like "???!?!?!? I GOT SHOT?!? IN THE LEG?!?! TWO WEEKS AGO!?!? AH!?!"

And I found this really relatable because a terrible combo of covid brain fog/depression brain fog led me to forget I had a diva cup inside of myself. I found it one day and my reaction was a very similar "?!?!?!????!!!! I HAVE THIS? IN THE [NOT-LEG]!?! DAYS AGO?!? AH!?!"

So yeah. I related to him SO HARD in that scene.

Oh my god! I have a terror of doing this with a tampon. Like if I was in a hurry and accidentally forgot to take the old one out before putting a new one in, then it could happen. And toxic shock syndrome is no joke.

IDK if diva cups carry the same risk of TSS as tampons, but if they do then I'm glad you're okay! I mean, I know TSS is pretty unlikely, and most cases of it don't lead to multiple amputations like the most extreme cases do, but still. *shudders*

I believe there is a small risk of TSS, but there might have only been one recorded case. But yeah, it scared me very badly. It's gross and silly but it was a profoundly unsettling experience. Like, "Did I put that there? Wait. It would be WAY worse if I didn't put that there."

Now I keep the item in a see-through container so I can make sure I know where it is.
