Re: Who was the last character you found yourself relating to (and why)?

Probably Toya Aoyagi from Project Sekai because one of his story cards made me sob hard, clearly it hit a nerve. It wasn't supposed to be that deep... it's a kiddy rhythm gacha.

Some of my friends play that game. I don't have the time or skill for it personally, but from what they discuss regarding it, the stories for the characters my friends like sound like they're consistently dealing pretty well with some surprisingly mature topics. I wouldn't sell it short as "not supposed to be that deep." You're not cringe for connecting with it, I promise.

AYRT, thank you! It surprised me because I have liked gacha games since the Love Live! days (so around 10 years) and often skip stories because they are samey/badly written. But I didn't skip this particular story because I like this character and the setting was interesting and wow, why'd you go that hard?! The surprise factor made it hit harder than it should, probably.
Since then I have been reading stories and am constantly surprised by the consistency and how full-fledged the characters are. It's pretty well-written for a gacha game for sure.
