I know in my heart that it's most likely not true, but the one thing that sticks in my brain is ...
There's a scene were Padme is speaking, and Jarjar is moving his mouth in time with her. This wasn't an accident. It took time, artistry and effort to animate him. They built a whole new tech for Jarjar. Him doing that was purposeful. WHY.
