I honestly do think that, as a general principle, "I would prefer if shitty people on the Internet did not interact with me" is not really an unreasonable point of view.

I am not expressing any opinion as to who is or is not a shitty person. I am not defending this random internet person who I don't know from Adam or Eve in any way. I just think the underlying desire to not want to interact with people who you strongly dislike and consider extremely shitty and annoying is not really wrong or bad. That's all I'm saying.

So someone might be wasting their time? Oh no? I fail to see how I'm meant to care tbh. People can block other people for whatever dumb reasons they want, it's really not an issue and frankly I'd rather people do that so there's less stupid fights.

So that artist can have at it, the only person it's affecting is themselves.

Obviously everyone can block anyone for whatever dumb reason they want, hell, I think more people should just do that. It's the obnoxiously performative nature of loudly announcing it that's kinda eye-roll worthy.

Sucks to be them.

I do find it tiresome when somebody announces that they're going to block someone because that someone is problematic. Nobody asked; just block them. I have a friend who watches a lot of streamers and is constantly announcing that she had to unfollow another one because they're playing the HP game. It's getting boring, we all know you're not a TERF by now, you don't need to prove your pureness to any of us.

I think this is silly only because Tumblr has been around ages, probably since before JKR started shooting her mouth off about being a terf. And I bet a lot of people haven’t touched their Tumblr bio since they created their accounts.

I haven't in 10 years. But if this person were to block me it'd be a win for everyone probably.

(Anonymous) 2023-03-17 11:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Wow, yeah, I definitely agree with you on this one. I'll follow antis if they have content I enjoy, but this person? Hell no, there is not enough good content in the world to make it worth the self-righteous, moralizing bullshit they undoubtedly post/reblog on the regular.

In fact, they probably don't need to worry about vetting those 400 new followers they claim to have gotten; in all likelihood most of the insufficiently virtuous ones will soon realize how insufferable this person is and unfollow.

Valid to block people for having Hogwarts shit in their bio, or literally whatever mildly annoying thing, if that's what you want to do. The "no proshippers" part of this is only actual shitty thing described.

Hahaha true

(Anonymous) 2023-03-18 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
It's funny this is coming from Tumblr, the same site where people have been making post after post saying "nuance important" in a self-important windbaggy way. I guess this is the one exception though and admitting to having liked HP ever makes you the devil

(Anonymous) 2023-03-18 03:48 pm (UTC)(link)
It's possible those aren't all the same people.

And nuance is important, even if that point is made by a windbag.
