As a nonbinary person who definitely felt ways about Ranma 1/2 I didn't fully understand at the time, you have my solidarity.

Is the show a hot mess express? Sure. But it also let me imagine a world where I could easily choose my gender at the drop of a hat. Well, bucket of water.

I think there is a narrative about a character, but with self-insert aspects. I feel like most of his songs about being unwell are balanced out by songs about moving on too, so that's a positive!
