Re: Vent
(Anonymous) 2023-03-18 05:10 pm (UTC)(link)As for side effects being proof of effectiveness... how about you drink some radium water for a few months? Maybe spike it with a little "raw water," just for extra health benefits? Radium and sewage are ALL NATURAL, unlike those awful synthetic drugs! If it's not effective, then clearly you will have nothing to worry about since side effects only happen if your alternative medicine works JUST LIKE the real thing.
Re: Vent
(Anonymous) 2023-03-18 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)WHOEVER said anything like that, honest question?! 100% sure that I never did and I would never joke about something like that. The links mostly spoke of aromatherapy and herbal therapy against neuro and psych illnesses which is what I need it for.
YOU ARE SPEAKING OF NATURAL MEDICINE AS IF THEY AREN'T "THE REAL THING" and I have NO FUCKING idea where you got it from since most synthetic drugs are fabricated using natural products mixed up with other substances. It's all herb-based. And I literally just said there are warnings against herbal medicine's potential adverse side effects. Anything that has a chemical effect can have a harmful chemical effect on some bodies - it's just normal, BASIC biochemistry. And now you are saying there are no side effects as if I had said anything of the sort. Fuck you. You are an imbecile and I hope you struggle with an illness that can't be treated by synthetic drugs just like I do then maybe you will think "wow! would've been nice if more research on natural drugs had been done" .

(Anonymous) 2023-03-18 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)Can't believe some people, honestly. "According to the articles, more research is needed" yes, that's... how EVERY scientific article that isn't a consubstantiated review of a substance that's been known and researched for decades ends, as you would know if you actually worked in the field. Because more research is ALWAYS needed, unless you are trying to shove your dumb product down people's throats with no regard for users' well-being and safety. A LOT of reviews on the most popular synthetic drugs' effects also end on a note like that. Of course more research is needed. But they also reach conclusions such as "this seems to be effective against this and that" and this is what counts. Then, more research is needed. Guess who funds "more research"? Guess whose interests are at play here? Not ill common folk that's for sure.
Re: Vent
(Anonymous) 2023-03-18 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)Well, you've totally got me sold now. What a completely credible argument, and it's amazing how you managed to get your point across without shouting people down or calling them names or wishing curses upon them.
By the way, is there a natural medicine cure for raging temper tantums? You should look into that.
Re: Vent
(Anonymous) 2023-03-18 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)Since that secret I have been paying attention to that and it DOES seem like they're just that mean/dumb.
Re: Vent
(Anonymous) 2023-03-18 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)I don't see them claiming that pharmacology is bad, or that everyone should be pursuing this kind of treatment, or that this kind of treatment will work for everyone if they are openminded enough, or that there aren't snake oil salesmen out there who should be stopped, or that people with life-threatening conditions should neglect the treatments their medical practitioners advise in lieu of pursuing alternative medicine. All of these things are bullshit, but I don't see AYRT claiming any of this. But you seem disinclined to engage with what they actually are saying, instead intent to focus smugly on their tone.
Re: Vent
(Anonymous) 2023-03-18 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)Of course my tone is going to come across as distressed if people are hoping that things that help me get banned, and it doesn't help my case that I am not a native (not even a fluent tbh) English speaker so their oratory will always come across as more intricate than mine (in their language at least).
But people jumping to conclusions such as: if you 'believe' in herbal medicine (as if that was a matter of faith ffs) then you are against synthetic medicine is so... wild. So insane. It's a purely cultural thing. There's no "us" vs "them" in this case to the world at large (a lot of doctors will prescribe BOTH wholly synthetic AND herb-based medicine depending on the circumstances) and I keep saying "what works, works" but it goes over their heads every single time.
