YUP! YES! HELLO!
And bisexual does not mean confused or a slut, either. I'd really like more bisexual people who are shown with same-sex partners, *especially* men. The few I've seen in any show had maybe slept with a same-sex person in the past, but were now cozily het forever (which is a thing, sure, but can we not have it always BE the thing??).

This. And while some bisexuals are poly, most aren't, the same as with straight people.

And yes to more bisexuals with same-sex main pairings. And also, I'd like more bisexual characters, when they dating and have multiple partners over the shows run, for the show to change things up. Most of the time they have just a single partner of one gender and then all their other partners are the other gender.

Begging to know where to find the poly bisexuals in media that you are implying exist in excess. (/srs)

It isn't usually labelled poly. But a lot of media portrayal of bisexuals shows them as players who can't choose a single partner and stay faithful to them because they need to be with all the different types of people they are attracted to and can't remain with a single person.

BUT BUT BUT HAVING DOUBLE THE OPTIONS TOTALLY MEAN YOU ARE UNABLE TO CHOOSE AND JUST ARE WIRED TO JUMP EVERYONE IN THE VICINITY!

And don't assume all bisexuals are attracted to trans people either.

Legends of Tomorrow may have had its many, many faults, but committing to both Sara and Constantine's bisexuality was one of the few things I sincerely thank it for.

This secret just reminded me of back when "bisexuals exist" was always replied to by someone with "if you're saying a character could be bi in a shipping argument because you want to justify putting them in an m/f ship, you're ACKSHULLY disrespecting bisexuals because you're just using their sexuality for shipping."

Lol, fandom hates it even when canon bisexual characters whose canon love interest is the same gender (even if it's not a canon ship and just one-sided love or a casual crush) are shipped with someone of the other gender. Because it's erasing... something.

There are also bi people out there who have never been in a het relationship. When I tell people this about myself including some other bi people and that I lost my virginity to a woman they often assume I'm a lesbian but nope, bi. :)

Do you also get pissed when straight people kiss, and no-one assumes they could be bisexual?

(Anonymous) 2023-03-20 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Don't pretend it's not way more acceptable to headcanon characters who've only done straight kissing as bi than characters who've only done gay kissing. OP mentioned gay kissing specifically because only then will you get shat on for "gay erasure" if you make them bi. If a straight seeming character is headcanoned as bi nobody gets mad (unless you venture into the homophobic bro-culture part of fandom, but that's easy to just not do).

Yes.
