I wondered if people had glommed onto the “Fishing Rod of Love” arc for this niche pair, and a cursory search suggests that it’s so! Looking for that term or koi/carp references might be a good start?

(If you haven’t heard of it, one of the later storylines had Ranma fall under the spell of the fishing rod above and subsequently fall for Ryoga, though he’s definitely written as ott giggly-smitten rather than really Ranma in love.)
