That was the dumbest twist ever. The monsters being guys in masks was okay, but the reason for the masks was stupid. And also ripped straight out from an actual kids book, Running Out of Time by Margaret Haddix, I'm forever surprised that nobody got sued over that. Then again, if Jill Murphy didn't sue Rowling, then who knows what counts as naked plagiarism anymore.
