I don't go here but I genuinely thought Darklina was the only reason people watched this show

I find Darklina so painfully uninteresting and the Darkling is the WORST. I mean more power to you if you find him attractive, but I don't. Like even if the actor is hot, that guy is such a whiny pissbaby that it kills any potential for attraction.

Everyone I talk to is watching for the Crows.

Haha yeah I basically skipped over anything involving Kirigan and Starkov. I was completely in it for the Crows.

I don't know anybody who is into the Darklina storyline, though I do know some who like Kirigan himself (whiny powerful baby that he is) and I must admit I find him pretty entertaining. But that storyline does all the heavy lifting with the worldbuilding so that the Crow storylines are more fun!

I don't watch the show, but Kirigan was the only thing I liked about the books. I didn't ship Darklina because it was boring and he's too good for her (too good a character, not person).

Yeah, that was my impression too.

I haven't seen S2 yet, but as of the end of S1 I'm begrudgingly ready to lowkey ship them in S2. I'm not generally into the "good girl/bad boy" ships, but at the very least I find it way more interesting than shipping her and her BFF. Neither pairing strikes me as being particularly interesting or fresh, so I guess I kind of agree with OP on that, but eh, I honestly just didn't find the show more than passable as a whole.

It's fun to give the id what the id wants sometimes. When I watch the show, I spent a third of my time annoyed at the stale tropes, a third enjoying the Crows, and a third drooling over the Dark Brooding Whinger.

They're not my favourites by far but I don't mind watching Alina's story because I like her well enough, but idk I'm not super into the show either, it's fun to put on in the evening before I go to bed but I don't go seeking out anything in the fandom for this show(I passingly went and looked at some Darklina fic after s1 out of curiosity because I heard people talking about it, but it didn't entice me as they're not my kind of hero/villain ship).
