100% with you on Teddy, he's just aggravating. Gene is more hit-or-miss. I think it depends on who he's with. If he's paired with Linda it's usually awful; she brings out the worst in him. With Bob they are often a really sweet pair. I enjoy seeing a kind father raising a kind son.

I'm the opposite! I enjoy teddy but can't stand Gene.

I watch the re-runs for this show a lot (usually around the Simpsons - I know!) and I honestly cannot decide, outside of the first season, whether I like it or not. I obviously don't hate it as I leave it on, but I don't know that I like it either. It's weird. First season is unwatchable, however.

I don't mind Teddy, but I never liked Gene.

I would say Gene is probably the character that makes me laugh the most with his one-liners, but I can't stand Teddy. He started out fine, but as the show has gone on, he's just gotten so clingy and so needy and passive aggressive. It's creepy. Also hate how the show always makes it so Bob has to learn a lesson about ~opening up~ from Teddy. Like the one where Teddy takes all day to deliver a big head, and Bob gets annoyed with him but at the end of the day, the moral is that Bob needs to work on his people skills and make connections like Teddy. Like, Bob had every right to be annoyed; he has a restaurant to run. Of course he was anxious about getting back to his job. I don't know. It's just hard for me to root for Teddy.

I haven’t seen that episode, but it’s always weird when they have a cut and dry moral. Usually, it’s more like “actually, the health inspector’s job is important. But also, Hugo’s an ass.”

they started to lose me when the moral of an episode with tina and tammy as the focus was that tina should feel bad and apologize for bullying tammy. tammy, who consistently bullies tina and never apologizes for it.
