You know what. Shut up. Being judgemental about real gay people and the same time accepting fictional gay people is not okay. It's like saying you're all for apartheid in real life but you think two people of different colour together are cool in fanfic. NO.

What? OP is allowed to express their opinion. And then is also free to face the consequences of having to hear other people's opinions about that opinion.

I should also note that while they want the OP to shut up, I doubt they want to deny the OP basic civil rights. The OP, on the other hand, probably does want to deny certain people basic civil rights.

So I would almost venture to suggest that the situations are not entirely equal here.

I don't know about you, but I think fanfiction is always about fictional characters. RPS is about the public persona, who is fictional and may or may not be like the person really is. Writing RPS about someone you actually know in RL would be beyond creepy.
