no one in this thread is saying that it's impossible. my parents (together 25 years) met because my mom thought my dad was cute and basically stalked him, then forced a mutual friend to throw a party so that she could "casually" meet him. hell, i know happily married couples with children that met on the internet. but IN GENERAL? yes, it is alot better and safer to get to know someone first.

oh, theyre seriously adorable. haha though youd never know it by looking at them, theyre totally boring old midwestern surburbanites. but the stalkage led to my mother ducking into a mens bathroom filled with her co-workers. and when my dad proposed, he put 'will you marry me' in a fortune cookie. the old adage about every girl wanting to find a guy like her dad? um, hell yes if hes going to do cute romantic stuff like that!

AWWW!!! ♥ That's too freaking cute! I know what you mean on both counts - my parents may look boring to the naked eye, but 22 years of marriage and still acting like dorky old newlyweds. XP

It's cute, but I must agree - it's raised my standards quite high for a spouse. My father does dorky little romantic things all the time. On their tenth anniversary, my dad bought her ten random things and gave them each a reason why he bought them. The only one I really remember now was the really, really nice broom (seriously, it's been over ten years and they still have it), for which he explained, "because you sweep me off my feet."

oh my god. this is awkward, but i think im kind of in love with your dad.

my dad buys my mom flowers all the time, but its because he used to work at a florist and secretly still likes arranging them. HAHA hes so metrosexual sometimes its not even funny, but he will KILL you if you even say the word.

im definitely the disney freak of my family, but my dad has always been SUPER anal-retentive about his hair, and wears preppy pink polo shirts. ('it's not pink, it's RASPBERRY!'.....yeah because THAT'S helping your case.)

XDDDD HAHAHAHAHAA...OMG, that's great. My dad has a pink shirt he once insisted was "peach." When my mom responded flatly, "Dear god, I married a gay man," he ended up not wearing the shirt again for a long time. XDD

(Our fathers seem startilingly similar. I'm starting to wonder if its perhaps possible for my father to have a clone. XD)

Oh, I know exactly what you mean. I love my mother, she is and will always be one of my best friends - but I'm a female copy of my father (in looks, as well, I've been told. ...repeatedly...). XD
