Just here to point out that everyone went to imgur because of photobucket doing that and it’s a safe bet that sooner rather than later the shiny new site will do the same.

Yes, that's a possibility. But it's still a decent option, for now, which is what people are asking for. I don't have any recommendations for image hosting sites that are guaranteed to be problem free forever and ever, sorry!

(I am too old to believe in forever so I am taking new shiny hosting for now).

Also I know people who upload images in their private discords for hosting. So if anyone uses discord, it's a thing
