Not OP, but 1) they should quit. all cops should quit, but queer cops especially should take a real hard look around at what they're participating in, and quit. Or they could stand up to the system they're participating in and get blackballed/fired, but they might also get fucking murdered, so on the whole, out of a respect for human life, I recommend that they just quit.

2) the fact that some gay cops really do exist doesn't make it not an aggravating and insidious trope to see over and over in media.

This. Also, gay cops can be homophobic assholes and participate in and help perpetuate a homophobic (and more) system.

There are no good cops. They all get killed or fired.
