Just to be clear to the few russian people who are here on f!s, I have nothing negative against Russians themselves. This secret is mostly about me continuing to disconnect myself from a fandom that had russaboos (weeaboos but for russia).

I think sometimes about the people I knew who would talk really glowingly about Russian culture and literature, and even had tried to boost themselves up for clout that they planned on visiting over there. I wonder if they are still into Russia as much as back when I was in the fandom.

Anyway though, this secret is just me I'm reflecting that a lot has changed since my time in that fandom.

(just in case there's that one loser sockpuppet troll who is not even russian btw decides to shit themselves in the comments section again, I am clarifying. btw that pro-putin troll is a loser.)

honestly? I can't bring myself to consume/support anything Russia-related these days, and I'm russian. also preparing myself for long years (possibly for the rest of my life, I'm in my late 30s) with no more any positive russians reperesentation in western (or any non-russian) media. and this is only fair.

Just to be clear to Russian folks on FS, there were two types of Nazis in Germany in the 1930s. Those who actively supported Hitler, and those who shrugged their shoulders and said there was nothing they could do. Both were Nazis, both enabled the regime, both share the blame.

So, Russians on FS, which type of Nazi are you?

wow, you're so clueless. It's the other way around. Russians don't hate Ukrainians and consider it the same people. Ukraininans tho? They hate Russians and are huge fans of Bandera, wear svastica, you name it.
If you're from US then this is just ridiculous.

"Consider it the same people" - so, basically, denying that there is such a thing as Ukrainian national identity.

Russians have looked down on Ukrainians for decades, calling them "hohols", to many Russians, Ukraine is the suburb of Russia. Of course they don't "hate" them, because they're the oppressor.

Ye, I hate both hohol and moskal (the word Ukranians call Russians) both. But Nazi? Many Ukrainians flew to Russia or just never returned home and continued working and living in Russia. Is it possible that jews would flee to Germany in the 40s from the neibouring countries? No.
Bandera was a Nazi and now he's Ukrainian hero.
I just noticed that you agree that Russians do not hate Ukrainians based on nationality or race. Hence, not Nazi. I'm surprised I was the only one to speak up about this stupid comparisson.

European child of Doctor Zhivago fans here! I am Generation X in American terms, and I remember a good many news stories about Russia and its changing roster of enemies of the state, and I hated the Russiaboos back in the 1970's.

( If you need to guess what my given name is, just think of the music box like theme to the more romantic parts of the movie. )

Oh, and as someone who was allowed to read ultra pulpy style novels from an extremely early age ( seven years old IIRC ), don't worry about the weirder aspects of that fandom. Just try hard not to interact with the people that make you feel uncomfortable.
