My sister is so frustrating. Last night I was frustrated and annoyed for several reasons. She'd pulled her car into my spot in the driveway before I got home, it was in the middle of a storm. And then I found my cat out on the porch, hiding under a chair, really scared. No one had brought her in.

I went and said something to the rest of the family about letting her in and then tried to walk off to cool off. But my sister insisted on engaging. I really needed to step away to cool off, but she likes to deal with things right away, and she insists on having her way. I ended up snapping that I didn't care. Which called a whole other thing because she got mad at me and claimed I was treating her as less than human. And that I cared more about my cat than her (which, yes), and that wasn't okay.

She wouldn't let me walk off until I apologize. No apology from her of course. Argh.

Reading about the argument you had feels very similar to arguing with my sister. It only ever ends on her terms. I'm sorry your sister was being insensitive. And just the absolute worst :(

She's fine, she was just really scared. And I hate when she feels that way.

I wasn't home. I was at work. And we have a closed-in porch, which she's allowed to be on. She doesn't go full-on outside. But the storm came on suddenly before I got home, and mom forgot about her being out there.
